COMPOST COMMUNITY

The Cincinnati Compost Community is free for anyone in the area. All organic material ends up in our compost system at our garden in College Hill. Members are also offered free finished compost upon request.

We believe composting is an essential strategy to reduce waste and create nutrient-dense material perfect for fertilizing ecologically productive landscapes!

LLANFAIR GARDEN

Llanfair, also known as Land Fair, is our community permaculture garden. Our ¼ acre lot is actively being transformed into a food forest and creative commons.

The vision of Llanfair is to create an environment of biodiverse, densely planted edible and native plants that provide an ecologically resilient source of food as well as a space for community building and accessible, educational interaction with nature.

Elements of the garden today include a plethora of fruit trees and other edibles as well as a fire pit, shed, raised beds, and greenhouse.

Please contact us to get involved at the garden!

SWAP

We host bi-annual swaps to trade and gift used clothes, plants, art, books, ferments, and more. Our swaps raise awareness of sustainable living and draw new environmentally passionate people to our community. Other elements of our swaps have included potlucks, jam sessions, local artist vendors, eco-art skillshares, and more.

SKILLSHARE

Cultivating knowledge and skill in native ecology and environmental stewardship is one of our core commitments. We organize free workshop events, virtual and in-person, on topics such as organic gardening, environmental art-making, native plant identification, at-home fermentation, and alternative growing techniques.

Volunteering at local farms, gardens, and social justice groups empowers us to connect and give back to the communities we are a part of, both physical and social.
